THANK YOU to EVERYONE who participated in the LA Clippers/Kia Charity Challenge!

PS Science participated in the LA Clippers Foundation online Charity Challenge running from November 15 – December 14. We succeeded in raising $119,000 in donations and won an additional $19,000 in prizes from the LA Clippers Foundation!!  It was an amazingly successful end-of-the-year campaign that will enable us to bring science to even more students!  Thank you to everyone who participated and to the LA Clippers for inviting us.

Thank You Hulu For Your Help!

Hulu employees honored PS Science at a Friday post-work Happy Hour event run by the Hulu Give Back Team.  Hundreds of sets of program materials were prepped by the Hulugans to be used in PS Science lessons later in the year.  Its a great way to unwind and do something good for the community. Thank you Hulu for working with PS Science!

Students Doing Science This Week!

This week in our PS Science classrooms, third grade students practiced using thermometers and started learning about climates around the globe.  Fifth graders refracted sunlight into rainbows.  First grade scientists compared the similarities and differences in parents and offspring of varying species.  Fourth graders learned about internal and external anatomy through a frog dissection, and second grade scientists explored bats and their sense of smell.  And everyone agrees… We love science!!!

The PS Science School Year has begun!!

PS Science has begun its 2017-18 year in 9 schools across Los Angeles! We are working with 66 classrooms, Kindergarten through 5th grade.

This week, one of our young kindergarten students at St. Anne school in Santa Monica modeled the scientific inquiry we hope to foster in all our students when she approached her PS Science Instructor and handed over a note she had carefully crafted, exclaiming “I have SO many questions!!!”  And as you can see, they are indeed great questions!
